Haydyn is a Primary Counselor at Millennium Counseling Center and received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Haydyn previously worked in the Chicagoland area as a Digital Strategy Consultant for Accenture but decided to shift her career to focus on her passion for counseling and psychotherapy.

Haydyn’s theoretical orientation is grounded in a psychodynamic approach that promotes the exploration of how our past heavily influences our present. Haydyn brings a special type of energy to therapy. She describes her style as warm, humorous, optimistic, direct, intuitive, and collaborative. Haydyn pays close attention to patterns and looks to understand a person’s full story before examining the presented “issue”.

Haydyn is passionate about treating clients with issues unique to athletic performance as well as concerns related to self-esteem and body image. In addition, she also works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Haydyn is a firm believer in being active in the therapy process. She will challenge her clients, help highlight where they are stuck, and work with them to encourage transformation.

In addition, Haydyn has a special interest in student athletes. Haydyn played Division I Lacrosse at Northwestern University, where she earned a NCAA National Championship Title. She also made it to two additional NCAA Final Fours and one Elite Eight. Through her experience, she learned that the road to success can certainly take a toll on one’s mental and emotional health. When working with athletes, she takes a holistic approach to address both performance related concerns and an athlete’s overall emotional-well being. Her understanding of the demanding environment and unique stressors many student-athletes face allows her to create meaningful connections with them to help them heal and grow both on and off the field.
